Teleports made simple

Step 1. Place your avatar on the proper location that you wish your teleport to land people at.

Step 2. Turn your avatar to face the direction you wish your visitors to land looking towards.

Step 3. Under "Teleport", in the upper toolbar of the browser, click "Remember".

Step 4. Title your teleport with a name you will easily remember in the "remember current location as:", entry window.

Step 5. Open Notepad on your desktop.

Step 6. In Notepad, *Click* "File" and then "Open" or "Cntrl + O" and use the "Look in" drop down menu to locate your Active Worlds program folder. At the time of this writing, the default location of the program is C:\Active Worlds\

Step 7. Locate the file "teleport.txt" and open it.

Step 8. Inside the file you will see a list of all your saved teleport locations. Locate the teleport you wish to use and copy it's location information as follows:

  • objyard1 2.82N 10.53W 3.86a 279:1 ObjYard Vineyards

In the example above, the teleport would take you to ObjYard1 world to: 2.82 north, 10.53 west at an altitude of 3.86 facing the direction of 279. The portion following the : in the example above, ":1 ObjYard Vineyards" is the title that was given to the teleport when saving the "remember current location as".

You would then copy that information, shown above, in red, to your Object Properties window inside the browser and insert it into the command line for your teleport as shown below:

Activate teleport objyard1 2.82N 10.53W 3.86a 279

In the example the "Activate" trigger is used so that when someone clicks the object with the teleport command on it, they will then be sent to it's location. This is best used with sign objects. You can also use "Bump" in lieu of "Activate". "Bump" will teleport the person when the object has been bumped into by the avatar.
